The Literature Group....We are a group of
people who formerly met under the umbrella of Keele University
but now we are an independent Literature Group. We meet in
the Jubilee Hall, Norton-in-Hales, monthly on the first Thursday
in the month from 10.00am until 12.00noon during autumn and
spring.
Our tutor is Mrs Betty Princep and our topic for 2009-10
is “Twentieth Century American Literature”. The
books that have been studied in the autumn term are The Jungle
by Upton Sinclair; The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton;
Focus by Arthur Miller. In the spring term the books to be
studied are, on 7 January The Winter of our Discontent by
John Steinbeck; on 4 February Mr Sammler’s Planet by
Saul Bellow; on 4 March Falconer by John Cheever.

on 2nd March 2010.
The Weekly Village Quiz takes place at the
Hinds Head every Monday night at 8.15 p.m.
