You are hereby notified that Alan Dutton, on behalf of the Parochial Church
Council of Saint Chad’s, has applied for a “Faculty” to the Diocese of Lichfield
for permission to do the following work in the church tower.
The Project
The refurbishment of all the external bell hammers - cleaning, replacement of
bearings, painting and realigning.
The cleaning of the Carillon and Clock along with their chamber.
The replacement and rerouting of steel cables where appropriate.
The installation of new lift off equipment with fail safe system for hammer
retraction.
Training of a local person to oversee general daily/weekly maintenance and
the setting up of an annual Clock and Carillon maintenance contract.
