This section is designed to provide useful everyday information to the villagers of Norton-in-Hales
A new system has been introduced starting from the beginning of November 2016. Collections are carried out each Thursday and switch between general waste and recycling each week. Please click here to visit the Shropshire Council Service Portal to see the timetable.
The system for separating refuse into the appropriate containers is as follows
GREEN WASTE BIN
Garden Waste (grass cuttings, weeds, flowers, leaves, small woody waste, prunings)
Kitchen Waste (including meat, fish, tea bags, cooked food, vegetable peelings)
Newspapers, magazines and cardboard
These can be used for any of the following items with no need to separate them into different boxes
Glass bottles and jars – rinsed out,
Food and drink cans and plastic bottles – rinsed and squashed
Whatever is left that does not belong in any of the above
