Norton In Hales Bowling Club - Update

The ‘Official Opening’ of the new clubhouse will be on Sunday 29th May with bowls and refreshments Everyone is welcome members and non-members, please come along.

The Club was formed in 1986 when the green was laid on the recreation ground next to the tennis courts. A second-hand shed was acquired from Almington Quarry to serve as a clubhouse and became known affectionately as the ‘Wendy House’.

The official opening of the green took place on the 4th April 1987.

With the later addition of a toilet block and further modifications it has served the club well for many years.

However, with its increasing deterioration a new clubhouse was desperately needed.

This has been achieved thanks to funds accumulated over the years by the members plus further donations from current members both financial and material. Grants were also received from the Community Sports Club via Sports England and the National Lottery.

The 2022 season is now well under way with A and B teams competing in the Market Drayton and Whitchurch Leagues along with the Market Drayton Senior league.
